Local MP Kevin Foster has been passionate about animal welfare issues since he was elected in 2015, and soon he will have the chance to pass legislation that further protects animal rights.
Last week Kevin slept overnight in Parliament to ensure he was at the head of the queue to present proposals for legislation on four issues including banning the use of wild animals in circuses, and bringing sentences for offences connected to dog fighting in line with those in Northern Ireland.
Due to the lack of Parliamentary time, it is unlikely that all four of Kevin’s Bills will become law in the time that has been allocated but it is possible that at least one of Kevin’s proposals may become an Act of Parliament.
Attached is the video of Kevin presenting his Bills in Parliament in today. We will keep you updated as the Bills progress through the House.
