Local MP Kevin Foster has today given his reaction to the news that the owners of MyLocal have filed a notice that the retail firm maybe going into administration.
The 120-store business, which employs 1,650 people, has a store on Market Street, Torquay. The decision to file a notice of intention to appoint administrators gives the firm protection from creditors for 10 days.
Kevin said: “This is worrying news and my first thoughts are with the staff affected. I hope the ongoing talks between Trades Unions and the chain’s owners to get the best deal for the staff affected are successful. I am only too happy to give what assistance I can as Torbay’s MP to those affected locally.”
