The news Torbay has netted £20m of funding from the Third Round of the Levelling Up Fund is very welcome.
This latest news takes the total funding available from the Government for regeneration schemes across our bay to over £100m. The latest £20m investment will finance a Brixham Fish Quay Expansion and a new Electronics and Photonics Park in Paignton, after the Town Hall's so-called 'fish and chips' funding bid was finally given the green light. Once an additional contribution from Torbay Council is added, the funding breaks down as £16.3m for the expansion of Brixham Fish Quay and £8.5m towards the Electronics and Photonics Park.
Following the announcement, Kevin queried with the Minister whether this means we can now look at other schemes for the potential funding available under the proposed Levelling Up Partnership which was being suggested for these two schemes. He is pleased to report this was confirmed.
