Kevin was interviewed on BBC Radio Devon this morning following a stream of complaints he has recently received from constituents about missed waste collections.
Echoing the concerns of a local resident also interviewed on the show, Kevin agreed the service currently provided is unacceptable and the Council should act urgently to seek a solution that ensures Tor2 deliver a more efficient service.
Kevin stressed the fault does not lie with the hardworking frontline staff making the collections, but with the management of the service and the type of vehicles used to make collections.
Torbay Council’s current contract with the Kier group runs until 2020. Kevin strongly feels this should be reconsidered urgently to ensure residents in Torbay receive the service they should expect.
If you have experienced a missed refuse collection, Kevin’s team would be happy to raise this directly with Tor2. Please contact Kevin’s office on 01803 214989 or at [email protected] if you require assistance in this matter.
