Kevin Foster, Local MP for Torquay and Paignton supports “Small Business Day” in Paignton
Local MP,Kevin Foster , was out and about in Paignton last Saturday 1st December, to celebrate, support and promote small businesses in the South Devon Town. This was part of “Small Business Saturday” held on one of the busiest shopping days of the year.
Kevin, said: "I very much support and rely on shopping locally and we are fortunate that Paignton has much to offer. The town has a wonderful collection of shops offering a wide range of goods and a high quality of service. I hope everyone will think about using local shops and businesses in the run-up to Christmas and beyond in the New Year.
"It is really important to support small businesses - they are the driving force of the British economy and help provide jobs for a great number of people. The nationwide campaign helps to support and promote the UK’s 5.7 million small businesses.
"I was pleased to see the Chancellor’s recent Budget contained particular help for small businesses, which will cut business rates by a third for small retailers with a rateable value of £51,000 or less. This is good news for our local small businesses."
