Earlier today (20th April 2018) I joined students, staff and representatives from a range of bodies at the ground-breaking ceremony for South Devon College's brand new Hi-Tech and Digital Centre, which is set to open in September 2019.
The impressive new purpose-built facility will offer a range of creative subjects, in addition to technical courses, not only to students of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics, but also to people in the local community and beyond. It will represent an investment of £17m in providing more opportunities not only for our next generation, but local businesses looking for the skills they need to grow.
With its innovative design and use, the Centre will kick-start the next phase of the College’s ambition to expand and enhance its buildings and facilities. I am therefore delighted to see work get underway and look forward to it being completed.
