Oldway Primary Visit
Earlier today (9th March) I spoke with pupils on the School Council at Oldway Primary School.
They asked a range of questions including what it’s like to be an MP and local issues I am working on in the area. I also explained how being an MP for our area involves having to balance time spent in London, with time at home here in the bay.
In a week when International Women's Day was celebrated one pupil appropriately asked me who the first female MP was? The answer is Nancy Astor, whose constituency of Plymouth Sutton, once covered the (now replaced) Freedom Fields Hospital I was born in.
