Local MP Kevin Foster has today been informed by Post Office HQ about a proposed relocation of Torre Post Office, from 298 Union Street Torquay to a Post Office Branch at 189 Lymington Road Torquay.
If the relocation goes ahead, subject to consultation, Kevin has been advised that the branch will trade as a new style of local post office in the premises in Lymington Road currently trading as McColls.
Kevin is keen to ensure that Post Office customers in the area have their existing services safeguarded, This means that constituents will continue to receive a service from post office staff at a till, and that opening hours will be the same as in Torre or increased. Kevin also wants the majority of products and services to still be available.
Kevin will be seeking assurances from the Post Office on these matters, but it is important that constituents also have their say. They can do this by logging on to https://www.postofficeviews.co.uk/liveconsultation.php and entering the Branch code number 18955299.
If constituents would like Kevin to feedback their views direct, please contact his team on 01803 214989 or email [email protected] .
The dates for the consultation are as follows;
Begins 20th October 2017 and ends on 1st December 2017.
The proposed relocation of Torre Post office is due in Feb/Mar 2018.
Kevin will report back once he has heard again from Post Office HQ.
