In barely 2 days, Kevin's team and the Herald Express have already obtained over 500 signatures from local people and commuters on our petition, objecting to the proposed 70% cut in our direct train services from Manchester and the Midlands to the Bay.
Today, local MP Kevin Foster has stepped up the pressure on CrossCountry trains by tabling a series of hard-hitting Questions in Parliament, scrutinising the terms of their franchise and the way they have applied the rules in seeking to justify these draconian rail cuts.
As soon as the Department for Transport replies, setting out details of CrossCountry trains franchise, we will publish the answers on Kevin's social media and in the Herald Express.
Anecdotal evidence from the hundreds of local people we have spoken to in the last two days should leave CrossCountry Trains in no doubt that these proposed cuts are completely unacceptable.
