I am pleased to say I have received a further update about the work to create a new Playpark on the Torre Marine Estate.
As regular update readers may recall over the last two years I have been working closely with the Torre & Upton Community Partnership to get some progress on this long-standing issue. Last year works to develop the park and sort out drainage issues commenced, but the schedule for the final works to put the play equipment in place had not been confirmed.
I attach below the latest update I have received which confirms the expected timescale:
Barratt Homes are currently working on the following prior to installation of the playground:
- Street lighting installation- due to be undertaken 21/02/2018
- Capping to retaining wall- now complete
- Tree planting- now complete
- Seeding of ground- being monitored
- Sub-base levels being increased- being completed this week
- Hoarding- removal now complete by Torbay Council
- Playground installation- Kompan will begin installation on 31 January. It is anticipated to be completed within a three-week period.
Upon completion, Torbay Council will arrange for a post-installation inspection to be undertaken and the playground can then be opened.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact this office.
Yours sincerely
