Chancellor Jeremy Hunt MP today unveiled his first Budget, significant new help with childcare costs for parents with young children, and pension reform for NHS doctors amongst the main measures announced.
Fuel duty cuts were maintained, and household help with energy costs were extended by a further three months.
Local MP Kevin Foster spoke in the debate, welcoming among other things the reforms for customers using pre paid meters, who are often among the most disadvantaged.
He also reflected in the Chamber on the significant Government investment in Torbay in the past 8 years through a number of schemes and building programmes, and highlighted the disappointing record of the Lib Dem controlled Torbay Council in spending the money effectively in Torquay and Paignton.
