Eight Torbay Schools are in line for funding to deliver needed improvements after the Government announced the outcome of the Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) 2022-23 round.
Following a rigorous assessment process, £498 million of funding for 1,405 projects at 1,129 academies, sixth-form colleges and voluntary aided schools was confirmed. This included 8 projects at schools in Torbay. These included:
Torquay Boys’ Grammar School has been awarded funding for phase 1 of their urgent heating refurbishment.
St Margaret’s Academy, St Marychurch has been awarded funding for urgent works to their main entrance.
Ilsham Church of England Academy have been awarded funding for a pitched roof replacement and a retaining wall.
Paignton Academy have been awarded funding for a replacement Gym Roof and windows block EFAA.
The other schools to secure funding were: Churston Ferrers Grammar School Academy, Galmpton Church of England Primary School and Brixham Church of England Primary School.
Torbay’s MP Kevin Foster said: “This latest round of funding is welcome news and will assist local schools in carrying out essential works.”
