Since being elected in May 2015, one of the favourite parts of Kevin's job as the local Member of Parliament is to welcome local primary school children to Westminster.
Just about all of our local schools have visited at least once and they do a fantastic job in educating our youngsters about the importance of political life - even at an early age.
Last week, Kevin and the team welcomed a large group of 45 children and adults from Preston Primary School, who set off from Devon at 5 o'clock in the morning, and arrived at a very cold and rainy House of Commons 6 hours later.
Before their tour of Westminster, including the all important trip to the gift shop, the children filled a room in the House of Commons to grill Kevin on his role as Torbay's Member of Parliament. Kevin remarked afterwards that this was even more nerve-racking than asking a question at Prime Minister's Questions!
After a packed lunch, a small group of children went with Kevin to 10 Downing Street, where they presented a petition on 'Surfers Against Sewage' - a big issue for us with our beaches in Devon.
It was a highly enjoyable visit, despite the weather, and Kevin always finds the enthusiasm and intelligence of the local children really encouraging for the future prospects of the Bay.
