Local MP Kevin Foster raised the future of Paignton Hospital in the Chamber of the House of Commons today. He asked the Minister of State for Health, Philip Dunne MP, whether he agreed that Minor Injury Unit services should remain in Paignton, given that it is the second biggest town in Devon.
From day one, Kevin has been extremely clear that local health services in Paignton must remain precisely that - local.
The Health Minister stated that the consultation is ongoing, and that his views will be taken in to account by the local CCG and NHS Foundation Trust.
Kevin will continue to champion Paignton Hospital, and will directly and forcefully relay his constituents' concerns over this matter to the very top at the Department of Health.
