Torbay MP Kevin Foster today (07/06/23) raised how the new Levelling Up Partnership will assist on delivering key local objectives, like Town Centre Regeneration, at Prime Minister's Questions.
Backed by £400million of investment, the Government says it will work in partnership with 20 areas, including Torbay, to secure what it describes as 'bespoke place-based regeneration in each area'. The announcement was made in March by Chancellor Jeremy Hunt as part of the Budget.
The Torbay Levelling Up Partnership will see the Government work with local MPs, Torbay Council and other key local stakeholders to identify what is needed to deliver key regeneration outcomes. Since taking control of Torbay Council at the local elections on 4th May the new Conservative Administration has made clear it will focus on delivery, with projects to regenerate our Town Centres, help our hi-tech sector to grow and to finally get a credible long-term plan for Oldway in place.
The Deputy Prime Minister was answering questions today on behalf of the Prime Minister.
