Since being elected in May 2015, local MP Kevin Foster has demonstrated a passion for animal welfare issues, believing that the way we treat our animals is a sign of us as a civilised society.
Last night, Kevin was delighted to host the League Against Cruel Sports Annual Reception in Parliament, highlighting the multiple successes that they have had this year in driving animal rights issues forward, and highlighting his own successes in putting forward two Private Member's Bills on banning wild animals in circuses, and increasing the sentences available for those convicted of animal fighting offences.
The evening was a great success with around 150 guests, involving MPs from across the political spectrum, listening to a number of interesting speeches, including from Eduardo Conclaves, CEO of LACS and Marc Abraham, better known as TV's 'Marc the Vet.'
