Local MP Kevin Foster visited Number 10 Downing Street yesterday in support of the fantastic work of Upton St James CE Primary School and their 'Send My Friend to School' campaign.
This very worthwhile campaign led to our local school children producing some fantastic artwork, encouraging others (including the Prime Minister) to speak out on behalf of the 37 million children worldwide who currently miss out on school because they live in countries that are in crisis.
Kevin had hoped to present the children's artwork to Prime Minister Theresa May in person, but she had just returned from the G20 Summit in China. Luckily, help was on hand in the form of the Prime Minister's cat Larry, who personally crossed Downing Street on seeing Kevin and took a close interest in the children's artwork.
Kevin didn't have time to 'paws' to stroke Larry, as he had to return to the House of Commons.
