Torbay MP Kevin Foster has just raised in the House of Commons proposals from Cross Country Trains to cut direct services between Manchester and Birmingham and the Bay by up to 70% in 2017.
Kevin feels that this would badly impact on welcoming visitors to the Bay, and would be harmful to our local economy
Kevin is particularly unhappy that the proposed changes were buried on one page of a 58 page document that was downloaded online, and not announced.
Transport Secretary Chris Grayling has been made directly aware of these concerns by Kevin.
Kevin is also meeting the Chief Executive of Cross Country Trains, Mr Andy Cooper, at the House of Commons in November to make clear his profound concerns.
